Jonathan Presley will now be representing Midwest powerhouse “One Man Riot” Frank Wyatt. Presley plans to lead the One Man Riot on a path of destruction through the Proving Ground. While Presley and Wyatt do make a formidable combination of brains and brawn, nothing comes easy in PGP. Ace Hawkins makes his return, this time in singles action. Ace had great showings as part of New Millennia, this time he looks to go it alone in the Proving Ground. Hawkins has the complete package of polished ring work, superior speed and solid experience( plus a heaping helping of charisma). Although the One Man Riot is newer to the game, he has the crafty and resourceful Jonathan Presley in his corner. Pheffer File: 5-24's REQUIEM New P.G.P. Franchise Champion Prince Mustafa Ali and his manager Rinaldo Piven have climbed to the top of the Proving Ground mountain. Ending the reign of former champ TaDarius Thomas, Ali and Piven now look to run roughshod over the ranks of Proving Ground Pro.
The crowd at 4-20's The Happening saw chaos erupt, the biggest blowup coming at the conclusion of the nights main event. Using the title belt as a weapon and administering a post match attack, Ali and Piven inflicted a number of injuries on TaDarius, leaving him unable to return for 5-24's REQUIEM. The post match beat down didn't go unnoticed, and from the back,”America's Favorite Son” Ruff Crossing rushed the ring with bull rope in hand. This did manage to scatter the duo of Ali and Piven from the ring, but it was only the beginning of trouble for Ruff Crossing. Slipping into the ring behind Ruff was the P.G.P. Cutting Edge Champion Blake Steel, a man with bad intentions and a genuine mean streak. Steel unleashed a brutal attack on Ruff, ending in a blow that KO'd the big cowboy with his own bull rope bell. This has also left Ruff Crossing unable to get medical clearance prior to REQUIEM. With all that being said, allow me to set the table for some of what we can expect FRIDAY, MAY 24th at Bogart's in Jacksonville.
P.G.P. Franchise Champion Prince Mustafa Ali ( managed by Rinaldo Piven) will put the title on the line against Tony Kozina. Kozina was originally brought to the Proving Ground by deal maker/manager Jonathan Presley, an argument over tactics during a match led to Kozina losing and dissolving the business relation between them. Despite the loss, fans in attendance saw that Kozina is a wrestling machine with a code of ethics and sense of fair play. After witnessing the tactics of Ali and Piven, Tony Kozina came forward demanding a shot at Mustafa Ali, knowing Kozina's resume, P.G.P offices decided to grant that request. Tony Kozina is an absolute threat to Prince Mustafa Ali and his hold on the Franchise Title. A twenty year vet with international experience, having worked with nearly every major promotion at one time or another. Keeping himself in top shape, Kozina now looks toward those “great last rides”and perhaps another run with a title belt. This match should blow the roof off of Bogart's!!! Ali versus Kozina should be a clinic, one of those matches you're just damn glad you had the chance to see live. You only get the art and science of professional wrestling like this with PGP!!! SPECTACULAR TAG MATCH ADDED TO REQUIEM!!! The Forbidden City Warriors ( Great Akuma and Professor Xun) will return to compete against The Sparkling Unicorns ( Billy McNeil and “Fabulous” Jason V). This match should combine entertainment and action like no other. Akuma and Xun thrilled the crowd last month and heard the “please come back” chant loud and clear. They will be facing the tandem of McNeil and V who have joined forces to become The Sparkling Unicorns. PGP fans are already familiar with the flamboyant antics and skilled mat game of Jason V, but Billy McNeil is a newcomer to the Proving Ground. McNeil is a St Louis area veteran who came up through the ranks with such stars as Matt Sydel (Evan Bourne), Delirious, MsChif and Dingo, McNeil has held a number of titles around the country and electrified fans wherever he goes. PGP fans are going to love the addition of Billy McNeil to the roster. The Sparkling Unicorns versus The Forbidden City Warriors is everything that makes pro wrestling a must see event!!! As the smoke cleared from 4-20's The Happening, Proving Ground Pro had shock waves sent through the entire promotion. A new PGP Franchise Champion and some fantastic new talent debuts highlighted this amazing night of action!!! (MATCH 7): In the evenings main event Prince Mustafa Ali (managed by Rinaldo Piven) defeated the reigning champion TaDarius Thomas to become the New P.G.P. Franchise Champion. This was an absolutely unbelievable encounter, pure wrestling action from bell to bell with the title hanging in the balance. Ali versus Thomas was as good as it gets, PGP fans were thrilled by the action in this classic encounter. In the end it was Rinaldo Piven who shifted the balance of power with a smooth piece of object smuggling and ref distraction, thus bringing the PGP Franchise title into the possession of The Piven Family. Congratulations go out to the new P.G.P. Franchise Champion Prince Mustafa Ali and his manager Rinaldo Piven on their huge (but controversial) win!!! (MATCH 6): In a battle of two stars making their Proving Ground debuts, “Devil Dog” Brad Lamen defeated international wrestling veteran Tony Kozina ( managed by Jonathan Presley) in a hard hitting encounter. A miscommunication in tactics led to an argument between Presley and Kozina, Lamen seized on the opportunity to secure the victory in his first Proving Ground match up. (MATCH 5): The Perfection Connection( “The Master of Swag” Perry Winkle and “Ravishing” Randy Ray) managed by Jonathan Presley defeated the debuting duo from The Forbidden City, Xun and The Great Akuma. A huge win for The Perfection Connection in their first Proving Ground action puts them in the mix, ready to climb the ranks of the Midwest's deepest tag roster. Xun and Akuma had a great showing, falling just short. It looks like PGP fans can expect big things from both teams in the coming months. (MATCH 4): P.G.P. Tag Team Champions Zero Gravity (CJ Esparza and Brett Gakyia) retained their championship in their toughest challenge to date. The Best (Mario Crivello and Bobby Valentino) with their manager Rinaldo Piven came tantalizingly close to taking the titles home to The Piven Family, but in the end Zero Gravity prevailed. Unbelievable action in this match had the crowd loud and wild from start to finish, once more proving PGP is the home of tag team wrestling. (MATCH 3): “White Kryptonite” Eddie Diamond ( with his Hype Man Timmy Rampage Danger) took home a win over “Party Danimal” Dan Lawrence. The debuting duo from Ohio Valley Wrestling lived up to their billing as fantastic performers, getting a win over the red hot Dan Lawrence. This match skillfully combined fun and excitement throughout, and got a huge response from the PGP fans. This is a perfect example of why you need to be EVERY PGP SHOW, you never know what you might miss. (MATCH 2): “The Famous” Justin Reno continues to remain undefeated in the Proving Ground, securing a big win over independent sensation Kid Hybrid. Reno is on a serious roll in PGP. With this win Reno edges closer to the top of the heap and closer to possible title shots in his future. (MATCH 1): Ruff Crossing and Marion Fontaine defeated the tandem of “ The Apex” Blake Steel and Derek St. Holmes Esq. . In a tag team grudge match, Ruff and Marion attempted to quell the bad blood between these four men by gaining a victory. This was a rip roaring beginning to what was the best night of PGP wrestling to date. This only reinforces the fact that Proving Ground Pro is ALWAYS YOUR BEST ENTERTAINMENT VALUE!!!
